Sal and Antonio are great guys. Eating here is like taking a little vacation to NYC. The pizza is authentic. I stayed in a crappy hotel in NYC and got a slice at the pizzeria across the street and it wasn’t quite as good as the pizza at Sal’s. I am an urban professional in my thirties and I love to have a couple of beers at Dee’s a couple of doors down and then grab a slice at Sal’s and watch the drunks. The employees are just as entertaining as the clientele. I also grab a couple of Jamaican Beef Patties to go. My kids love them as an extra special breakfast treat. They are spicy and delicious. STRONGLY recommend this establishment to anyone hungry for authentic NY style pizza by the slice or by the pie. Draw on a paper plate and have your artwork displayed on their wall alongside an autographed photo of your favorite Steeler or a local girl posing with Sal himself!

Alpo. I was drunk and this pizza still sucked. Hardly any cheese, garbage pepperoni and that skinny beaner who served us had the dumbest jokes I ever heard in my life.

Great hours but OK pizza. Worker was super friendly and welcoming. Didn’t wait long for a few slices – only complaint is they need to put more cheese and sauce on their pizzas – especially if they know they have to reheat them for individual slices. My pizza slices were mostly dough with a little cheese. Disappointing.

Fantastic. This is authentic NY pizza. $3 a slice… Great dough, delicious ingredients and non-greasy cheese!

  • Doc Smooth

The most authentic NY pizza on the South Side, they offer $2 slices and Jamaican meat patties.
