This is a cute little shop on Carson Street…all the dessert options you could want under one roof.My wife and I had a pair of milkshakes (chocolate peanut butter and cherry). They were both fairly good. Her shake (the chocolate one) was very thin and while mine wasn’t as thin, it good have been even a little thicker. But I suppose that’s just personal preference. There are MANY flavors to choose from…these 2 were just okay, we’d try different ones next time. There are also other dessert options (sundaes, ice cream, etc) and a lot of beautiful chocolates to choose from. My big complaint is that the chocolates you purchase by weight…but there’s no sign or anything telling you how much it costs per ounce/pound/etc. You can ask and there was enough staff there that someone should be able to help you quickly…but that seems like a MAJOR oversight. There are only 3 tables, but there are 3 other counter areas to stand at…and with a milkshake or cup of ice cream, that’s really all you need. Parking on Carson Street is a headache…that’s kept me away from other places, so just be aware of that.Prices are on the higher side…but that’s what you’d expect from a fancy dessert/chocolate shop like this. The shakes were $4.50 each…but be aware, Wednesday from 4-6 PM is happy hour (half price shakes)…so if you want to give it a shot, that might be your ideal time. Although, you’ll have to pay for parking then (it’s free at night)…so who knows.Still…it was a nice, quick date out with my wife and, as a big milkshake fan, I enjoyed it.
Amazing! Get the Carleton off the secret menu. Best dessert in Pittsburgh.Best dessert I have ever had period.South side Carson street.
Love this place. I’ve never made it to the milkshakes. I am like a little kid at the chocolate counter picking out chocolates. They are all amazing. One day I will step five feet further and get a milkshake. The chocolates never make it home. I keep telling myself just one more, and then suddenly they’re all gone.
Painfully good. Forget the …. Painfully good.Forget the milkshakes, go with the sundaes. I recommend The Carleton. Had one last month. The chocolate and peanut butter mix brought me to my knees begging for mercy
Just plain good. Everything is excellent: the many choices, service, and price. Be sure to ask for the Carleton… loads of peanut butter, chocolate, and nuts ladled over vanilla ice cream.
Love. I absolutely love The Milk Shake Factory. I have a lot of friends from out of town, and when they visit this is one of the places I make sure they visit. The have a wonderful variety of shakes and chocolates anyone can try/buy. This is not mention, everything is reasonably priced.
All around awesome. If you have a huge sweet tooth or just love chocolate this is the place for you! there is so much chocolate in so many different ways. the prices are a bit expensive but totally worth it! I got the Chocolate Strawberry shake. a bit on the thin side, almost like a smoothie but you could taste the fresh strawberries.
