One of those great non-chain places. I’ve been working at 61C lately, and I’ve been enjoying it. As one reviewer mentioned, they don’t have many outlets, so come prepared if you’re planning to work on a computer. That said, I enjoy their attractive display of baked goods and appreciate that many of them are made fresh in house. They’ve got a great tea selection that covers all categories – black, green, herbal, blends. I find their prices to be reasonable ($2.65 for most pots of tea), and the staff have always been friendly and accommodating. I’d recommend this place, and I plan to return there myself.
Awesome staff and awesome drinks!. I’ve been here for coffee, tea, juices, smoothies, cookies, pastries… it’s all very fresh and very high quality! Their tea menu is hidden on a menu by the register and not on the wall because it’s big, so don’t miss it! I recently had a convo with 2 different baristas on 2 different nights, and both remembered me when I returned the following week. I love that! They squeeze the juices and smoothies right in front of you and really just throw whole fruits into a blender… so there’s no syrup crap in these drinks! I usually walk in and ask for what their favorite juice and smoothie combos are, and they can make stuff that’s not on the menu for you. The pear juice is really good and worth trying in a juice. It does have that weird pear texture, but it’s really unique and tasty. It’s wonderful sitting outside on the patio on summer nights, and a great place to meet people and people-watch in Sq Hill. The cookies are also unbelievable, especially this English toffee one that they have at the moment. Just… wow! There are only 3 or 4 outlets, which is inconvenient for laptops, but I just charge mine before I leave the house when I plan on going there. Everything about this place is great – the staff, the drinks, the service, the sweets, so definitely check this place out!
Perfect little coffeehouse. Went to 61c for the first time tonight and loved it. I’ve always been a bit of a coffeehouse snob, trying to stay far away from the large chains. This place was perfect. Friendly barristas, relaxing atmosphere– I felt right at home. My coffee was wonderful. I just wish I hadn’t eaten right before I went there…the cookies, cakes, and other pastries were calling my name. I guess I’ll know to save room the next time.
Needs more outlets. It’s just that simple.
