The owner is so nice! I bought so much stuff I felt bad, but it was very cheap. The chocolate cake was excellent. She had a special chestnut cake for fall that will be very nostalgic for anyone who grew up with that flavor. Everything is very good, especially of you like Asian baked goods which are a little less sweet than Western ones. I’ll definitely be back! 🙂

Great!. Owner is super sweet. Works SO hard! The cold chicken sandwhiches are good, as are the warm ones in winter. Whole wheat squares are tasty !

Love the Custard Buns!. Given the lack of Chinese bakeries in Pittsburgh, we were happy to stumble upon this place. We’ve gotten sweet buns there multiple times, and they are always delicious, especially the custard buns. If you go frequently, the owner, Ivy, will take care of you. One time we went in and there were no custard buns. She made us a fresh batch. That fresh, hot custard bun was incredibly delicious, and the best custard bun I’ve had anywhere!

Holy Crap. This place is tucked away but is a REAL gem. What an awesome little bakery and what an awesome owner! It’s like walking into a little cafe in Japan and when I stepped in I was hit with a wall of nostalgia. Check this place out! Take the extra steps to the bottom of Murray and take a look.

Healthy and Delicious. I can’t believe I waited so long to check out Bubble Pi. I had tasted Ivy’s cooking twice before, but didn’t realize it… One of my students brought me her dumplings and red bean pastries before.Hot tea, cookies with almonds, fresh baked bread, espresso, red-bean pastries, dumplings, cake… It’s all wonderful, and served with a smile.

Oh, yum!. Stopped in because I was craving something — anything! — with red bean paste in it. Managed to snag the last red bean bun, as well as a custard bun, and some biscotti. Have not tried the biscotti yet but the red bean and custard buns were absolutely fantastic. I can’t wait to go back and try the… well, everything! I’m so glad I went in!

Fresh Asian Buns. If you like Asian buns (custard, pineapple, coconut, red bean, butter) you’ll be in heaven. I went twice this weekend and the buns were made the same day–best coconut bun I’ve ever had. The bread is simply awesome.
