BEST LATIN AMERICAN RESTAURANT!!!. Yesterday I had the best dinner ever! people is friendly and they have the best Mexican Food! spectacular.. very good prices for such a great dinner!
Overpriced. Run of the mill Mexican fare typically found in a chain restaurant. Disappointing. Had indigestion for hours after the meal. Won’t be back.
Horrible service—will not be going back!. This was the WORST experience ever. I purchased a Groupon for a lunch special and the waitress refused to honor it. She told me that I was required to have 2 people present in order to redeem the voucher—this was not true. The voucher said that I needed to order 2 entrees. It said nothing about needing 2 people. She was stubborn, ignorant of the Groupon deal, and unwilling to serve me. I reported the restaurant to Groupon, and they said that they have reported the incident internally. A review may be underway if other Groupon customers have additional unsavory experiences. I obviously can’t tell you about the food, but the service was really awful! Buyers beware!
Excellent food, excellent service, and a charming little place, too! I tried their Fajitas del Pastor and was blown away. I’m originally from the Southwest and have been searching for a good Mexican place here in Pittsburgh for a long time–luckily, I think my search is over! I guess it’s not quite as swanky as a place like Steel Cactus, but I’ll take great food and service over some place whose only merit is that they hired an interior designer any day.
Underrated, but Overpriced. People love to complain about this place, and it is overpriced, but I enjoy the food. The tamales are excellent, and so are the veggie fajitas. They should just provide a more generous helping of tortillas from the get go, because three is not enough to fit all those vegetables! And it would mean the world if extra chips and salsa didn’t cost extra.
Not too bad. Had dinner at Cuzamil tonight; chips and salsa were not that great – salsa is boring and chips were stale. However, the queso was very good (called cheese dip on the menu). I really liked my selection, which was combination 14 – a taco, a quesedilla, and a chile relleno. I though the chile relleno was unusual in that it was rather small but it was ok. The taco was also ok. I liked the quesadilla. My companion had the chimichangas and he liked them. Rice and beans accompanied both meals and they were very good. Margarita is made with actual tequila – other places in the burgh seem to short us on tequila rather often but not Cuzamil. I thought it was above average for Pittsburgh.
This is a great little place, a true find. I have longed for quality Mexican food since I moved back to Pittsburgh several years ago. Really good Mexican was high on my list of things I missed about living in the West. Now I’ve got access again, conveniently located on Murray Avenue, in Squirrel Hill, among its many ethnic dining spots. The food at Cuzamil is really flavorful and though I can’t judge its authenticity, I don’t care, cuz it’s that good! The Huevos Rancheros is outstanding. The Chicken Mole is quite good. The Margheritas are the best I’ve had in the Burg, (ask for Cindy, the welcoming proprietress, to make you one). The staff is quite pleasant and the decor, while simple, is humbly charming. I especially like the bar side, (the restaurant has two rooms), which is painted in a festive color scheme and has relaxed low lighting. Dining at this little place, at once, takes me away from it all and makes me feel right at home!
