Awful. I have never been displeased with EVERYTHING. I can usually point to an element that wasn’t seasoned, or a little overcooked with the rest being okay. This food was just bad. Mushy dumplings, tasteless soup, and who charges extra for fried rice? We celebrated with a family member who chose it; otherwise I would have just left.
Disappointed. Wanted dumplings in the worst way and thought I would go to the place of it’s namesake, big mistake. We ordered about 4 different kinds and each one got worse than the other with taste. No seasoning and soggy through and through. Staff was nice but couldn’t make up for the torture of trying to get those dumplings down. On top of all of that, we later discovered we were charged twice for a bad meal. Never will go back but I hope they will get better.
Steve is the best! Awesome service and the best sushi in PGH. Ask for the special roll with black caviar and jalapeno relish in a soy wrap. Scallop roll is also wonderful!
Just bad. Canned mushrooms, no spicy in supposedly spicy dishes, MSG maxed out so much that it effects the taste of the food. Embarrassing. Never, never again.
I asked about MSG and was informed they use it in all the dishes unless you request no msg. Very stingy when it comes to rice. Stingy enough that it cost them my business.
Favorite Chinese in Pittsburgh. My wife LOVES Chinese food and is very picky about it. I like Chinese, too, and am also decently picky. New Dumpling House is hands down our favorite Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh. We’ve never been disappointed with the food or the service!
I live nearby and occasionally go to the Dumpling House for convience sake.However, with that being said, the people who operate it are definitely the rudest proprieters in Squirrel Hill, or, for that matter, any eating establishment I have ever been to – and I eat out alot. This has not changed in 6 years. Their food is definitely just your run of the mill chinese. Try to find another place if you can. There are lots of excellent restaurants in Squirrel Hill who are very eager to please their customers.
