Ask a Penn Stater where he goes when he is broke, and Big Bowl is the place he’ll tell you about. Big Bowl probably serves the cheapest Chinese express food in State College. But what is good about Big Bowl is that the low prices never affect its quality. The food will not cost you more than $8 even if you decide to order the best dish on the menu. You can make the food last for a couple of meals and still stay full. The only two problems with Big Bowl are that they do not deliver and only accept cash payments.If you’re wondering what you should eat at Big Bowl, be guaranteed that the fried rice will not disappoint. Another popular item is the curry rice with fried chicken.Give the place a shot and get your money’s worth!
Probably one of the only places downtown other than California tortilla which gives student rates for the amazing great-quantity food. The chicken dishes are a favorite and soup is given in such a huge bowl you probably can buy 1 bowl for 3 people! The taste is so good too.

Low prices – Great Food. Some of the lowest prices in State College yet some of the best Chinese food in town. Everything here is good. The steamed buns are some of the best I have ever had. The boba tea is very good. Look hard for the sign because they are in the basement.
One of our favorite go to restaurants. Very authentic, very good food and the prices are awesome! It’s big, its loud and loaded with asian college students,how much more authentic can you get? Lol
One of the most authentic Chinese places in town, and by far the best. Its consistent, owned by a White / Chinese couple (I think), and there specials are always a smart move.
Good soup. Kind of dingy.
