Great Selection. I don’t know what this deli used to be like, but it has great selection with probably 100 sandwiches on it. Everything is made fresh with Boar’s Head meats and cheeses. I like to try some different things. The chicken parm panini and the turkey club are my favorites. Their salads are huge and yummy with fresh veggies. With so many options, there is something for everyone – paninis, reubens, salads and soup. The Fraser Street Deli is a little off the beaten path, but a must try for State College.
Decline. This used to be the Stage Door Deli, a great deli modeled after the Carnegie Deli in NY; Kim Rotthoff and his wife Eileen had a great business here, but then downtown state college started to decline due to the high taxes, parking and crime problems. This deli is now a limited menu, not the way it used to be.
