If you’re a seasoned Mad Mex fan, you know that one Mad Mex location is NOT the same as the others. Mad Mex in State College caters to the students. During the school year, this place is LOUD, and the servers, hard as they may try, just are pulled in too many directions to give great service. With Mad Mex Happy Valley, we always order takeout. That way, we don’t have to worry about noise or lousy service. The food is always very good, but like I said, other Mad Mex locations will give you better food. I highly recommend the Korean BBQ Quesadillas.

Not for Grown-ups. This is basically a college bar wrapped in a restaurant’s clothing. It smells like stale beer, and the food was average-generic. It is a poor dining option for hotel guests, but judging by the majority of customers there, it doesn’t matter. This is a student-oriented bar with big, cheap drinks with a lot of alcohol. If that is what you are looking for, then I’m sure it’s great, but I was looking for a decent-quality hotel restaurant, and this was not it.
