One of the best places to get pizza in State College. I’m a self-proclaimed foodie who’s eaten pizza in Harrisburg, Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York. While I don’t think this pizza is nearly as good as some of the ones I’ve had in the big cities, it’s as close as I’ve had in State College. Food is always hot, made fresh, and served quickly. The crust tastes homemade and good, unlike the cardboard crusts at some other nearby places. I got the white pizza, and there was a lot of ricotta and garlic, which I liked, but might be too garlic-y or greasy for some people. And prices are decent as well.

Please read this before you enter this establishment!!!! It could SAVE your life!!!. So we order from Mamma Mia’s thinking we were gonna get good service because it was a new restaurant in the area and they would want to get return customers but boy was I in for a treat. Instead of them correcting their mistake and manning up, they took the cowards way out and lied through their teeth!! A strange number called my cell phone from a restricted number and proceeded to belittle me and call me nasty things and at one point yelled at the top of his lungs at me over the phone. I then called back the original number that I called to make the order , just to make sure that this really just happened because i couldn’t believe that a restaurant would call me like this! Well my question was answered by a sweet sales rep who belittled me a bit more and called me sexually promiscuous names for a bit before she hung up on me. All I wanted was my food to be correct for what I paid for, but I guess when you come from a big city, you can do what ever you want!!! well this isn’t going to quiet me up.. I can write what happened to me and let all the customers who even think of going to this establishment to be aware of what you could be walking into… Please just be careful if you go here… take a friend who got your back.. it’ll be for your own good… I plan on letting every web site that I can find that has restaurant reviews, about this place… and I made this the rated G version, I would not be allowed to post what was actually said to me on this website for they would take it down, I have never in all my years would think for one minute that I would have been treated this way… I have seen Sociopathic behavior before and this was eerily similar. All 2 of the people who treated me this way fit a certain profile. Please look up the term Sociopathic on the internet before committing to any dinner plans tonight and rethink take out!!!!!
Authentic italian Cuisine. I’ve enjoyed the finest pizza in the world, living in NY City I have that privilege. However, it is refreshing to find such an authentic italian restaurant in such an obscure place. What I mean is being a college town most pizzeria’s are content to provide sub par pie to drunk college kids. Compromising quality for a quick buck is the name of the game…most of the time. Not at Mama Mia’s!!.. I truly believe this guy would close his doors before cow tailing to mediocrity. His passion for quality is evident in every item on the menu. His pizza would rival any pizza in the world, it is truly phenomenal!!.. Do yourself a favor and go see what I mean, you will not be disappointed!!.
The best around!!!. Mamma Mia’s is by far the best food around. I am from NY and my mother is from Italy so I grew up with good food my whole life. You can really taste the difference and you know the food is fresh! The bread is homemade and delicious! The portions are all a good size- I’ve tried almost everything on the menu, including the chicken marsala and gnocchi marinara- which taste exactly like those that I used to hand roll with my nonna when I used to visit her in Italy. Mamma mia’s is the only place that I eat at in State College. Anyone who thinks otherwise is obviously ignorant and knows nothing about REAL Italian Food!
