The generic experience. Yet another scar on the landscape of interesting restaurants. It’s Panera. It’s generic. It’s a salt factory that fresh bakes frozen bread.
Bad quality for a Panera. I moved to State College recently, and I have to say this Panera is the worst-quality Panera I’ve eaten at. Usually Panera is good, but the food here is really not worth the lunch-rush – salty, sloppily made, skimpy on the sandwich fixings. People – there are better sandwich places in town!
Why the hype?. This Panera is just as good as any other Panera out there. But I just don’t get why people are so crazy about it. The soups are pretty good. But the sandwiches are just so-so. And certainly not worth the price! $11 for a You Pick 2 meal and a drink? No thanks, I’ll hit McDonalds. I know people will say Panera is healthier, but depending on what you get, if you get a whole sandwich, it might be 900 calories. At McDonalds, I can get chicken nuggets and fries for under 700 calories. Look at the nutrition facts before you make claims about a restaurant.
Of course panera is delicious. A little pricey for an order-at-the-counter kind of place. But it’s definitely worth it! Very good food and a nice atmosphere.
