BBQ For Your Bucket List. I’ve been going to Pig Daddy’s since a year after they opened, and I can vouch for their succulent ribs as well as their KC pulled pork, brisket, Cubans, Chili, quesadillas, cheeseburgers, mac & cheese, and baked beans. I even had them cater my birthday party in the West Chester area, and they did a great job. The owners get up early and get the fire burning that imparts the deep smoky flavor to their meats. They also were Best of Philly in Philadelphia magazine, as well as repeat winners on myfoxphilly.com’s City Voter competition..
Excellent. There are two types of BBQ joints out there. The first is the ‘dabbler’. It’s the brainchild of someone that was looking for a theme or a gimmick for the restaurant he’s about to open. He chooses BBQ, cause, hey, how difficult could it be? He has no knowledge of what BBQ really is, no familiarity with regional differences and no appreciation for the culture. Chances are his ribs are pre-smoked and come in cryovac bags. The second are places like Pig Daddy’s. The owners of Pig Daddy’s are true practitioners of the craft of ‘low and slow’ BBQ. Pig Daddy’s offers all the BBQ standards, and they do them all well. The reason for their excellence is that the owners aren’t dilettantes. When they aren’t out at BBQ competitions or conducting seminars, they are hands-on in the restaurant. They live and breathe BBQ and it shows. As an admitted BBQ snob and aficionado, Pig Daddy’s is the only BBQ joint in the area that I’m comfortable recommending to friends. Thankfully, they haven’t let me down as I’ve only received positive feedback from people that I’ve recommended the restaurant to.Pig Daddy’s is exactly what it should be. Unpretentious, reasonably priced, excellent low and slow BBQ. Eric
Ribs were not good!!. Ive been to several rib joints and this places ribs tasted old, and they were steam heated. I think that they were around awhile.
