Favorite sushi restaurant in York. Two special dishes feature only salmon or tuna prepared several ways , both are fresh and delicious. Wasabi is sinus clearing hot.
Super small overpriced portions
I was told by friends to go to masa. I have heard it was great. well, I also had problems with the service. my family went in and there and there were three tables. we though, good, this should be kinda fast. it took ten minutes just to get tea! okay, let’s talk about the food for a minute I ordered hot and sour miso soup and it was Outta this world! lemongrassy and delicious. all kinds of good stuff in there, shrimp, mushrooms, tofu, bamboo. it was good. the seaweed salad was good too. it took about twenty minutes to get those things though. so now we are ready to eat. we ordered three rolls. 4O MINUTES!! I asked the waiter what the heck was taking so long? he said … we have lot of take out order. YOU NEVER PUT TAKE OUT IN FRONT OF PEOPLE IN THE RESTAURANT! at this point I was pissed I didn’t care what the rolls tasted like. an hour and twenty minutes. three tables. can’t really go back there. service is so hard to find these days.
Excellent sushi and great food. We find their sushi to be better than other fancier places
The sushi was ok, except that the wasabi tobiko was still frozen. However, the staff was uncharacteristically unhelpful when we asked for help avoiding soy sauce in our meal. Even though the restaurant was practically empty, this request was apparently too much to accomodate. We’ll be dining elsewhere next time the urge for sushi hits.
Food was good and the wasabi is very hot, but if you have dietary limitations, celiac for example, the staff is less than helpful. We had to repeatedly ask about the ingredints in the food and were served more than one item that included soy sauce (wheat) even after we had explained our situation.
The tuna almost melts in your mouth and the wasabi dumplings are so hot they can make your nose bleed….in a good way.
