My husband and I are typically very big fans of Silk Road, going to dinner or lunch a few times a month or even getting take out from there. We only had one bad experience there about a year ago and had another bad one last night. We choose to sit in the hibachi section and get that for dinner versus the regular Chinese food. Everything was fine until the cook started to cook the scallops we had both ordered. For whatever reason (probably to save money) they cut the scallops horizontally leaving the scallops to very, very thin. A typical size scallop needs only a few minutes to cook, yet these ultra thin ones were cooked for about 10 min and then a horrible tasting teriyaki sauce was out on them. My husband asked if we could have something else and we were given a few excuses from the manager and then she walked away. She was not accommodating or understanding of the situation, as a manger should be. I will eat pretty much anything and even I couldn’t stomach the thin slivers of scallops. More disappointed in the way the situation was handled then the lack of quality of the food. We will not being going back there for a while.
Poor customer service. I will never spend a single penny in Silk Road again. We ordered take out. When we got home we found out they didn’t fill our order completely. I called to report it and was treated so rudely. The woman that took our order talked to me like a child. She was very argumentative with me. She mocked me on the phone. I was very upset and shocked to be treated so poorly after spending a lot of money on our meals. I will never be a customer there again. I’m surprised in the economy that a business can throw away customers so freely. Especially when it was their mistake! I’m spreading the word to all my friends.
Great for a date or Family!. The place is surprising once you walk in the dcor is very taste full, upscale and very modern. Its surprising to be of such quality in a shopping center! They have many options for dining hibachi, sushi at the bar or table, and Chinese cuisine. The portions are very large, so you will always have lunch for tomorrow. My favorite food is the mango salmon or the shrimp and scallops dish. All fresh ingredients and are made to order so you can edit the entrees how you prefer. I always like to try new sauces so I ask for sauces from other dishes to try with my meal. The servers are very accommodating with special requests. I have gone here for dates and have taken my family for fathers day and birthdays just make the reservations because this place gets busy even on the week nights.
Bad, all bad. I will start off by saying it has been my families Christmas Eve tradition to eat hibachi, we chose this location for the last 2 years. We have also ordered out from here very often. Was always good. The last time I ordered out for delivery it took 1 hour 45 minutes, it arrived at my home dried out and not edible. When I called to complain the owner told me that wasn’t possible and they wouldn’t have delivered it that way. After calmly explaining that in fact it was dried out. She stated, that if I would like to drive it back down there she would look it over and that she would not help me in any other way than that. I was home with a baby in bed asleep. I wasn’t able to, nor did I feel that was my responsibility, I instructed her to come and get it if she needed to see it that bad. She refused. Long story long, I will never eat there again and unless you want to eat somewhere who treats their patrons like liars I suggest you go else where. Shame on them.
This restaurant takes Chinese food to a whole new level! The quality of the food and service is absolutely outstanding!! The atmosphere and cleanliness of this restaurant also makes you enjoy your meal and shows that there is real pride in the ownership and staff! We’ll definitely be back, probably won’t ever eat Chinese food anywhere else, why would we!?
LOVE LOVE LOVE. My boyfriend and I have been going to Silk Road for over four years now and , although it was introduced about a year ago, they have THE best sushi in the area, and the Chinese menu is just as amazing. We visit here at least once a week.
