Outstanding food and service. Exquisitely seasoned without being overdone; subtle blending of exotic flavors. Though small in size, Esaan is a huge addition to downtown York.
WAY Too Expensive. I grew up in Seattle, WA; a very eclectic place for restaurants. There was some amazing, authentic Thai food there and I became obsessed. So, after moving to York, I was hoping to find a replacement. After reading reviews about Esaan Thai Restaurant, I decided to wing it. I ordered 4 duck egg rolls (which were tiny and didn’t even taste like duck) and these alone were $6 a piece. SIX DOLLARS! I also ordered 4 entrees, and my total bill was a little over $75! The portions were small, the meats were over cooked, the curry was more like a soup, and again….the prices were ridiculous. Obviously, people in York don’t know what actual Thai food is because this ain’t it!

Best Thai (& gelato) near York. You can’t beat Esaan. Whether you’re coming in for a full-blown Thai meal or just grabbing some of their awesome Italian gelato, you can’t go wrong, My wife and I have been here a few times alone and with friends. Every time we’ve had the same experience. The staff is always friendly, attentive and accommodating, There are usually a few unique items they have each time in addition to the regular menu, which is a big plus for me since I like trying different things. They will make dishes as spicy as you want, but i recommend not overdoing it so as not to overshadow the great flavors. Their chef is amazing, so I’d just say let them make it how they recommend. Everything here has also always been very fresh.Don’t forget to get the homemade gelato for desert….amazing 🙂
Amazing fresh tasting food!! SO good!!! If you like Thai food definately try this place!!
