Restaurant is ok, but banquets are horrendous. There is no management....I would not recommend having any sort of party here nevermind a wedding!…

WOW. I have gone to Bristol many times on business trips, but this visit was for fun to catch up with friends. Shame on you De Wolf!!!!! I will not be returning to this place, the conversation I heard from your bartender was so inappropriate and fowl. My wife was so uncomfortable hearing about this women, her intoxication , and her sex life, not what we wanted to hear about at a fine dining restaurant , I haven’t heard fowl talk like that at a truck stop!!!! I thought you was making improvements on service???? Utterly disgusted. This could have been a great place. Not a place to bring your family If I want classy , elegant, and great service I will be going to Persimmon. Sorry De Wolf Tavern
Poor service, bland food. I had dinner here on a weeknight at an earlier time hoping to get prompt service. Unfortunately the service was extremely slow, over an hour and a half until our entrees came out. I could have overlooked this except for the fact the food was not very good. I have had better experiences in the past but I would not suggest this restaurant to a friend.
Pleasant Surprise. I was wanting interesting food. My friend was needing gluten free. We were pleasantly surprised at how many choices there were for her. And it was fabulous! The bar seemed very popular with lots of people mingling. All in all it was great food, a wonderful atmosphere and we both walked out wanting to go back. Luckily it says they’re open every day of the week! I’d recommend it.
A real treat. Im surprised at some of the negative reviews as this is a great restaurant. We had the pice fixe dinner and went away ready for more. Understand this is an Indian chef and the food has an Indian influence. This is great cooking and great service too. Try to shrimp at the bar….wow.
The worst / rudest service ever. Dewolf Tavern could be a great restaurant (great location, great decor, etc). Too bad the staff is the rudest I’ve experienced. Went here with my wife, the hostess looked at us as if we didn’t belong there. Ok…..the place was almost empty, business must be good. This is a waterfront location many people with expensive boats come here. They can sure afford overpriced food. I decided to go across the street to a pub. Much better. My wife wanted to go there so we went back. The hostess again was a b….ch. The service is just awful. They look at you as if you are imposing. Just blows my mind. The food is good but no bargain. Bottom line, this place is just not worth it.
Ask for Joe! The cheesecake was lite and the guatamalan coffee was delish!
Great Mid-Week Special. Try the price fixed mid-week menu selection…19.95 for appetizer, dinner, dessert, and glass of house wine / draught beer. Was very impressed with the Curried Potato Soup – great flavor that warms you from the inside out. The Paprika Braised Pork was equally as comfort-y. Both dishes were Indian inspired, featuring muted notes of curry and spice…certainly not overbearing…just the right balance. The dishes were perfect the way they came – no need for extra seasoning. The chocolate pecan ice cream was delicious, albeit an odd consistency. The milk chocolate ganache is a MUST to add on to the ice cream – I had to hold myself back from licking the ramekin it came in. What I wouldn’t do to be able to buy it by the quart. Very neat restaurant – upscale tavern with plenty of history and a perfect location to boot! Right on the water and in the quaint town of Bristol.
