Never Again. Went there to celebrate my son’s birthday. We had a reservation for 12 at 7:30. 10 adults, 2 children We arrived and were told we had to wait for all members to arrive before they would seat us. Ok. At 7:35 ish all members had arrived. We were told we had to wait another 15-20 minutes. Why? We had a reservation. That took us to 8:00 pm. Several other parties came in..got seated..we were still waiting. Then we were told another 15-20 minutes..why? We had a reservation.. 9:00 pm we were still waiting. Keep in mind we kept asking about being seated and kept getting the same response. We had children in our party that were hungry and crying at this point. The staff was so rude and obnoxious. We called Applebee’s down the street. They were ready for our party in ten minutes. Thank you Applebee’s for making it a great night. Ichigo Ichie was an awful experience. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Deplorable service, ignorant to their customers and down right disrespectful. I will never go there again.

Hibachi Dining. The hibachi was good both times that I’ve been there, but the chef was’nt that entertaining or friendly. The drinks are wonderful!

Disappointing. Of the three times I’ve eaten here, I’ve been disappointed three times. There wasn’t a dinner that was a complete disaster, but each time there was something that failed to meet even my lowest expectations. My last visit the eel avocado roll had a negligible amount of eel. It was mostly lettuce and avocado. The waitress was attentive and prompt, and obliged when we requested they remake the roll with more eel. She returned with a roll made exactly the same way, with the same minuscule strip of eel.The price is not worth it. I will not be returning.

No thanks. Went there waited and hour ok fine got to the hibachi grill to place order with my wife this is we’re it got bad… She ordered her food I ordered sushi and was told by waitress that we had to eat elsewhere in front of a restaurant full of people, felt very disrespected then they don’t have a table for us , got stuck eating at sushi bar when my wife wanted the hibachi food and hates the smell of fish. I’m paying the tab really I have to eat at a different location than my wife never again should have ate at Wendy’s but they were quick to throw a big bill at me and wasnt offered anything by staff …. Nope never again !

I had high expectations going into Ichigo Ichie. I had heard fantastic reviews about both the ambiance and food. I am a hibachi enthusiast. Love the show, love the chefs, food is prepared excellently, and the sake… well it’s definitely a perk. We happened to stop by at 9:30 on a Friday night, definitely not the last group there, and were seated right away. It also happened to be my birthday. Every hibachi place I have ever been to have been especially attentive to their guests, not Ichigo Ichie. While our waitress was sweet and took our drink and food order right away, there seemed to be a disconnect between the kitchen and her. Our order wasn’t correct, until we questioned where the rest of our food was. The chef seemed forced to be friendly with our party of 6 (and, truth be told, we’re an easygoing group {and good-tippers!}) The couple next to us were visibly disappointed because the chef was basically annoyed since one of them ordered from the menu- no sake for you! The food was… good(However, Azuma in N. Dartmouth is 10 times better.) Show: sub-par… Again seemed forced. (And actually a bit rude) Service: See show. Sake: I’ve had better experiences. The honest to bitter (and I mean bitter) end to our first experience to Ichigo Ichie was the fact they were mopping with ammonia as we finished our meals. Won’t be going back, will never recommend.

Ask for Crazy Abu! He makes it really fun, and the hibachi is pretty good.

Overall good. Ichigo Ichie is about a three-minute drive from our new house, so it has become our default sushi stop. We haven’t tried the habachi side, and don’t plan to, so this is just the dining sideThe Good* If you stick to nigiri/sashimi, and the ‘standard’ rolls (California, Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Tuna, etc.), it is very reasonably priced (for sushi).* The presentation is stunning.* They have some great apps (the crispy duck roll is a meal for two, for instance). The negimaki and wonton are also favorites. The mussels are great, but the cream sauce is so rich that I recommend sharing a plate of five among a table of four. The Bad* Service varies wildly, even when the place is mostly empty. Don’t go if you’re in a hurry.* The drinks are incredibly overpriced ($8 Samurai Slammer that is mostly fruit juice, Mai Tai with so much Passion Fruit rum in it that it’s like drinking perfume).* The ‘specialty’ rolls are really overpriced, and drowned in enough gooey sauce to make the fish untastable.* They play awful pop music over the sound system (seriously, I don’t really consider Kanye and Eminem fine dining music).
