Walked in after reading good reviews and people looked at us like we didn’t belong there. Were told it’s by reservation only and they close at 8pm. If this is not true then we were profiled unfairly as 2 non-Italian white boys.

Go Somewhere else. We waited many weeks for a reservation. There were four of us in our party. We all ordered different items. We found the food to be mediocre at best, but was very expensive for what you received. One of our party wanted chicken to go with the pasta, and had to order a second dish to get it. It could not be added. Two pieces of lemon chicken were almost $20, and that is all it came with, just the two pieces of chicken. The red sauce dishes tasted like Chef Boyardee. We will not be returning.

Damn fine sandwich. When I was in college in Texas, I worked in a sandwich shop run by an Italian couple from New York. For the last twenty years, I’ve looked for a sandwich as good as those. I finally found it when we moved to Providence. The combo, omg. Order it, you won’t be sorry. The bread is fresh and the meats are amazing.Edit: We went to the gourmet Saturday dinner last week. The food was excellent (brasaola carpaccio, mussels & clams in white whine, prosciutto ravioli, rabbit cacciatore, limoncello cake, strawberry brandy gelato). It was also about 20% overpriced IMO (especially the deserts) given the lack of atmosphere, ice water, etc. It will continue to be my favorite sandwich shop (honestly, I don’t know how they can sell sandwiches this good as cheaply as they do), but we probably won’t be hitting Saturday nights there again.

Fantastic. Everything here is top notch. delicious sandwiches, great soups, prepared foods, deli, and groceries. best minestrone around.

Great sandwiches. Best sandwich around. The bread is always fresh, sometimes even warm. They serve dinner on Saturday, haven’t been yet but planning on going soon. They also have prepared italian foods which look very good. But the sandwiches are awesome.
