So Good. After a month in Rhode Island, we’re starting to establish some absolutely reliable places. O Dinis is not only has the best food we’ve had here so far, but is in the top five places we’ve eaten at in the US. You get absolutely authentic Portuguese food cooked perfectly, friendly (if harried) staff, and an unbeatable atmosphere. The sound of spoken Portuguese fills the air, and the decor stretches back in time (both of us spotted clock radios on the wall that were owned by our grandmothers!)We’ve gone a couple of times for dinner, and once for lunch. The menu is pretty much the same for both lunch and dinner. The chourio appetizer is a huge link of perfectly smoked sausage (my wife also had a sandwich out of this for lunch there). It comes with some nicely hot peppers (I ended up getting a bunch more), pairing well with the bread. The clams in white wine sauce are another great appetizer that served as my main course after the sausage. The sauce, soaked up with the bread, is a meal on its own. My wife had a shrimp dish that I forgot to note, it was basically shrimp scampi in another dredge-worthy sauce. There are always a number of specials going on as well. While neither my sister or my mother would be happy to hear it, it was the best beef stew I’ve ever eaten…

Yummy food, horribly, horribly slow service.

Try the Flan !!. What O Dinis lacks in ambience more than makes up for in the most delicious Flan dessert. Most Portuguese restuarants that I’ve been to will serve you a burnt curdled mess, but not at O Dinis, they’ve been offering a perfect flan for many years.

Great Place. This isn’t a fancy restaurant like the others in the city. It’s a small mom and pop shop with great food and great prices. If you have an hour for lunch stop by you will get your food quick.

Excellent experience. Wonderful food. This is a family run jem. Serivice is very good. The staff is helpful and cares about your experience. The littleneck appitier is a meal by itself. I had the rabbit special which was delicious. Broad selection of Portuguese wines The deserts are amazing.

Excellent. I went to O’Dinis a few weeks ago for the first time and i lived in East Providence all my life and ate at every other Portuguese resturant in the city. O’Dinis is outstanding, the service was excellent the food and spice blend is excellent and the atmosphere is excellent and i highly reccomend it . I also just recently learned that the owner was the Portuguese singer during the wedding scene of Mystic pizza.
