Highlight of Our Stay.. Captain Nick’s on Block Island reminds me a lot of Key West. Its super laid back. You can get a drink at the bar and just sit and people watch. Food and drinks are order and pay style so you can grab any seat and just relax. They have different music acts to accommodate people of all ages. We went on a Friday so there was an acoustic duo on the deck from 6-9 while we ate sushi outside. The sushi was out of this world and the atmosphere was so relaxing. We could tell a lot of local were there. Back to the sushi-we were warned not order too many rolls by the bartender because they were so big and boy was she right. We had Shrimp Tempura, Spicy Tuna and one the the special rolls I think called the Breezy. It had everything in it including mango! So great. We could barely finish the 3 rolls between the 2 of us! Reasonably priced too, I think the rolls were $9 or $10 each. So worth it.We left to go home and change but came back for the band that night! They were great! Dance floor was packed and they were high energy.We went back again on a piano bar night which was one of my favorite nights. They do it upstairs which has big couches and chairs to sit on. After vacationing pretty hard all weekend, it was nice to have a place where you could be out, but not really be out. Piano player was great and hosted request after request of Billy Joel…:) It was the perfect volume so that we could have a conversation, but still hear him. On the piano bar nights, they offer a different wine/martini list which was great. We even got our cocktails in glass which the bartender told us is extremely rare. They only do it on the Piano Bar nights.Overall, we had a great time. It seems like people of all ages could find a night that they would enjoy here. We would highly recommend.
