Business dinner in Newport held at Diegos. Location is fabulous – right in the harbor. We had great weather and the seating was exposed to the outdoors. Definite plus for me. Th staff seemed nice, but that is where my stars fall off a bit. It was not overly busy that night. The had a limited menu for our party – normal setup. After ordering a draft beer to start – it took 20mins to get my drink! Food orders also took way too long when selecting from a limited menu! I ordered the fish tacos and we had chips and guacamole and spicy calamari for appetizers. All items were very tasty. Never offered a refill on my drink. Overall fun night, but service was too slow for a 4 or 5.

Good is delicious, however they stopped serving my favorite dish (the lobster avocado salad, please bring it back!!!). The drinks are overpriced but good and the experience is good. I recommend their nachos!

Unfriendly service, loud. We came in as a party of three to spend some time at the Bar and were greated by very unfriendly Bar tenders. The place was not busy, so we left since we were not welcome. Very rude Manager!

Great Cocktails & Food. The cocktails at Diego’s are the best in Newport and worth the extra few dollars. The salads are great.I love the perfect quesadilla which comes with snap peas- I usually add lobster to it. I usually don’t order quesadillas in a restaurant because they are so cheap and easy to make at home- this is the exception. In the summer this is a very busy place, and it may not work for everyone. With some planning, hitting it early in the afternoon or evening may work better for families with small children or older people. The food is a Baja Mexican and may not be what many people expect- it can be very spicy- a side of sour cream often helps with that. It is good fresh creative food- give it a try

Pretty good. This was my first time in Rhode Island and we decided we had a craving for some Mexican. We were told it would be an hour wait to be seated inside, while it was a little cool we decided to sit outside the wait was only 15 minutes. The selection was pretty good and they were able to accommodate for vegetarian substitutions. The food was only warm but it was pretty tasty, their nachos were good. The salsa cups were small but you got a large serving of guacamole.
