Salvation is a Lie. There are two Salvations- pre remodel and post remodel. The pre-remodel (pre 2011) was an interesting restaurant. Post-remodel is a mean girl terror show. If you want to be abused high school style- this is the place for you. You walk in and MAYBE after 15 minutes some staff MIGHT notice you. There are 5 boring taps. If the bartender isn’t too busy with their friends you MIGHT get a good drink and then again maybe not. The food has become downright bad.Tourists who find Salvation rate it interesting. Locals know how far it has fallen and stay away. Most importantly the owner manipulates the ratings- try it out- post a bad review and it gets removed. This is NOT a great restaurant. This is a sad restaurant that rests on laurels of days gone by.
Amazing great atmosphere and excellent short menu. Our group had four different meals and everyone gave it excellente’ reviews!! A must go for an off the strip place in Newport.
I had an amazing dinner experience here. Off-season in March. Had the Ox tail ragu over gnocchi. The dish was outstanding! Fresh, flavorful and perfect portion size. Service and atmosphere was solid. Good but small selection of beers. Definitely coming here again!
Simply the best fun spot in Newport. Great food
Great food and atmosphere!
Sunday brunch was as eclectic as the decor– grits with chorizo, beet salad, and cornmeal pancakes. All delicious with friendly wait staff too. Well be back!
Fun, Funky, Tasty. Cool atmosphere, creatively decorated in an artsy-funky style, the Salvation Cafe is a great place to hang out with friends and/or eat at the bar… The service is very friendly, and the drinks are well made. I highly recommend the ribs, pad thai, and diver scallops.
