Love it!. I love this place! The chicken and potato empanadas are my absolute favorite! It’s small and family owned. The staff is very nice. It’s only a few girls there that can speak English. If there’s a language barrier just point to what you want. Unfortunately, they don’t have a menu so if there is a language barrier then good luck trying to figure out what you’re about to eat. As far as them being racist, I’m black and I look black. I’ve never been treated badly because I’m black. It’s pretty packed on Saturday and especially Sunday when church lets out and people are there with their families. The homemade hot sauce is a must try! I’ve turned plenty of people on to the goodness of this place!
Wonderful Family-Oriented Colombian Bakery!. I’ve visited Caprichos countless times over the last 3 years. The family who owns this bakery and the workers have been nothing but friendly and welcoming to me. I’ve dined in with friends and have stopped by quickly to grab a bite to go. I’ve only ever witnessed them being incredibly professional and respectful to all guests. Their food is always sooooooo tasty, and it’s clear that everything from the empanadas to cheese balls (my favorite items on their menu) are prepared with care and love for their culture. I would HIGHLY suggest taking a trip there for yourself. Colombian or not they will make you feel right at home, and you’ll definitely find yourself coming back for more.
Racist…. If you are black or Latin-black or a person of color. Please do not go there. I was there with a friend and we were the only two African-Latin people. Out of the sudden, with no particular or valid reason, the owner asked us to leave. When we asked him why, he responded that it was his restaurant and he served who ever he wanted. All I can say about myself is that I am a very well known writer from a Spanish speaking country in the Caribbean, (I will not reveal my country to avoid creating division between my country and the country of origin of the owner). I just would like the Latin community to know this is happening and not to support this business as long as prejudice and discrimination are being employed by the ownership to insult other humans….
