The Best Chinese Food Around. My family and I come here all of the time for birthdays and special occasions but also for casual dinners and lunches. They were even open last year for Christmas. (Of course we went.) I personally like the steamed dumplings, egg drop soup, the rangoons, the wanton soup, the beef and broccoli, and the moo shu shrimp pancakes with plumb sauce but all of the food here is really good. The sauces really make the dishes here. I dream about their dumplings and have not yet found one restaurant that has dumplings that compare. The juices from the meat in the dumplings are so good and the soy sauce they make with it is to die for. They serve complimentary tea and the fried thin crunchy dough with duck sauce. The waiters are quick to serve us and are always very friendly. There is hardly any wait for food and it is always hot. The dining area is always very clean and they have a fairly quiet atmosphere, even when they are very busy. It would be a really nice place to bring a date. This is hands down one of the best restaurants in Rhode Island.
Best food in Pawtucket?. OK, that’s not saying much (sadly), but the China Inn is a dependable stop for standard Szechuan food. The menu doesn’t seem to have changed since the Yips opened their first restaurant on Dexter St in the mid-70s, before moving to the current location. What was once cutting-edge for RI is now commonplace, but the quality has not dipped. Kudos to Louis Yip and family.
The best!. The feel of China Inn is a bit above casual (in my opinion) which may deter some diners.. but, the food is delicious and authentic. The service is always fast, friendly, & consistent. They participate in community activities; recently part of the Blackstone Valley Tour of ethnic & local foods.. also, Mr.Yip, the owner, is awesome! A++!
