Absolutely terrible! I would not call this Chinese food. I used to order from here about 4 years ago and it was good. Not it is disgusting! And their delivery man is so rude. The worst I have ever dealt with and I answered my phone right away so it’s not like he was waiting very long. There was no reason to be so rude, the food was basically thrown into my hands. I could t believe it. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone. Do not order!!!
Awesome. Fast service, delicious food, great prices.
This place is gross. Seriously. Don’t even bother. Microwaved food, frozen egg rolls, disgusting duck sauce, tasteless sauces. Cheap, but food this bad is never a bargain. We wishedvwe had just gone without lunch.
I thought, given the reviews that this would be a good restaurant; and, when I saw the presentation I thought they would prove correct. Unfortunately, the chicken in the sweet and sour combination plate was cheap, the sauce glutinous and sticky sweet. The pork fried rice was bland and the egg roll was adequate. The service was not very good as one of our party did not receive the correct tea. Very disappointing.
Got to get the Shrimps!~. I Have tried Shrimp with lobster sauce at every respected chinese food joints around town and yet i can not find one that compares to Chef Ho’s theres is Amazing! especial with some real deal house hot mustard!!!
It’s tough finding a really good Chinese place in providence that isn’t sketchy or Waaaayy overpriced. This is it. They even deliver. Delivery guys are nice and very friendly. I’ve never had a bad meal from here and I’ve been ordering for over 2 years! Not sure what the deal is with the other review on here, but I find their food delicious and filling!
Oh No, We Won’t Go. I got a lazy sunday afternoon takeout from Chef Ho’s today. Sesame Chicken entree w/ steamed rice, Peking Chicken Wing Combo, Fried Wontons, and Subgum Chow Mein w/ Pork. To add, I was supposed to get a free pint of wonton soup for ordering over $20 worth of food, not including tax, that was never added. To jump to the worst dissapointment first, chow mein is supposed to have noodles as the main component right? They sent chop suey without noodles and it was so watery that, upon pouring the fluid out into the sink, the liquid took up half of the container. It had nearly only celery and soggy carrots as the vegetables, a disgrace to any subgum on earth. The sesame chicken was obviously cooked earlier and microwaved upon my order because it had seperated dramatically from the breading in many of the pieces and had that burnt from the inside taste. Not to mention that the sauce tasted like melted sugar and was more watery than the chow mein chop suey cacophony. The fried wontons were so over fried that the b.b. sized pieces of beef in the center were so hard I nearly chipped a tooth. I managed to choke down 3 out of 12 just to make sure that I didn’t get a bad example at first. There is literally no reason to think that there was any love put into that traditional palate teaser. Lastly, the peking wings were actually fairly well priced for Providence, $6.95 for 8 wings, fried rice, and an egg roll, so I was pleased with that from the jump. To be honest this is what I was most looking forward to. The wings were crispy in parts but, as the other dishes, so drowned in watery sauce that it made them soggy and relatively bland besides the overwelming amounts of sugar. I would not get them again, done poorly and really just tasted undercooked. Fried rice was dumped from a bucket and the egg roll might as well have been dipped in the grease trap as well. Is it really that hard to cook chinese food? This place should just plain go out of business. Sorry for the owners but, learn how to do your job and people won’t say those sort of things about you. I spent nearly $30 on your business today and felt entirely ripped off, is that why you started your restaurant? I will never, ever eat at Chef Ho’s again, and will never say a nice word about them. This is the sort of place that gives American Chinese food restaurants a bad name, just go away.
