Killer Menu. Great spot to grab a couple cold brews with friends! The extensive beer list features over 200 beers (hard to choose one)! The bartenders are always helpful when it comes to choosing something from the rotating draft list! Shared a beer bucket of Miller High Life ($12 for 5!) on the patio yesterday! Also have amazing wraps and the fries are to die for! They have parmesan cheese on them (warning-highly addicting)! The vibe is very chill and relaxing ! Great weekend crowd and fun staff members!
On the Other Side of the Pond. My kid goes to Brown university, while visiting, my family and I had a dinner at the English Cellar. I must say the atmosphere was very authentic. The young folks working there made us feel at home and were very accommodating to all 20 of us. As we all shouted out our food orders, we were sipping some amazing beers from the entire globe. We didn’t know one place could have so many choices. Our food arrived and once again we were very pleased by the presentation and the taste. Very cool place, great beer selection and great food, very rare!
Awesome!!. As we walk in to this downstairs pub, i was shocked by the detail and people! Me and my friend ordered the sheperd’s pie. This was REALLY good! The way all of the ingredients blended together was delightful. Also, they have a massive beer menu from belgium to ireland. We also had the fried oreo’s. I would definatley come back and tell all of my friends!
What a mess. I went to the English Cellar Alehouse with friends on a Friday evening. Two of us ordered the fish and chips, and the waitress came back and said they only had one order left. Huh? At 6:00 on a Friday night? I then ordered the chicken pot pie, which was a total disappointment — a puff pastry lid set on top of a small bowl of unimpressive filling. It might have been better hot, but by the time the rest of my table got their food, it was only lukewarm. Even worse, my friend who ordered fries as an appetizer got them after the rest of us got our meals, and they were sad and pale compared to the nicer, crisp ones others had been served. I had a bad experience at this place the week it opened, and I thought they would have gotten their act together by now, but judging from this experience, it’s only gotten worse.
Like the Guinness commercial, Brilliant!. My husband & I had been meaning to try out this pub for months. Located on the East Side of Providence in the former location of the Liquid Lounge, it has outdoor seating and last night was perfect for an al fresco dinner. The pub offers a limited menu of traditional pub food and some vegetarian options as well. I originally ordered the Fish & Chips, but they were out of fish. I next ordered the Beef Pasty and my husband had the Shepherd’s Pie. The pasty takes at least 20 minutes to make so be prepared to wait, but it’s well worth it! Flaky pastry, delicately seasoned beef and served with a mushroom gravy. Yum! The Shepherd’s Pie was the best we’d had in the area, again with a nicely seasoned beef layer and creamy, flavorful and thick mashed potatoes on top. It was very filling, but could have been slightly improved if the same mushroom gravy had been served at it’s side. There was a timing issue in the kitchen that caused our food to come seperately, but management couldn’t have been more apologetic and helpful. Based on the responsive service and the excellent food, I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this restaurant and plan to bring friends next time to share in their signature Fried Oreo dessert!
Awesome Pub!. We dined there as a group the other evening and it was delightful! The fish and chips were out of this world! Everyone loved there dish’s and the prices were reasonable! The beer menu was huge, thank goodness they had the styles of beer grouped otherwise we would not have known what to order! The ten penny ale reserve was incredible! Great atmosphere and crowd that night! I recommend this place!
Horrible. My wife and i recently decided to give this pub a chance which turned out to be a horrible decision. First of all, they do have an extensive beer menu however it is disorganized and impossible to follow. You can expect to find bud on the same page as a Belguim. Secondly, be both ordered hamburgers from their tiny menu only to receive two chard burgers that were completely unedible. Following two seperate discussion with the waitress the manager credited us our entire bill. In conclusion there are many places in providence at this point with extensive beer menus and certainly better food to choose from don’t waste any time with this place.
