My wife and I went here before going to Trinity Rep and we both loved our meals. I had the pork porterhouse, which was fantastic, and my wife had a wonderful steak. Lois fuller’s is reasonably price, especially compared to the over priced places downtown. We cannot wait to go back.
ber Jugendstil. What a gem of a restaurant for Providence. Very friendly servers and bartenders in the best decorated interior in the city. Gorgeous art nouveau tiles, woodwork, metalwork, painting etc. No detail has been spared to create a true brasserie environment that rivals places I have been to in Spain and France that were actually established at the turn of the 19th century. Great beers and spirits, and food rendered with as much care and style as the decor. By my estimate, there is nothing here that can be improved upon.
Pleasant lunch. On a suggestion from a friend ( a foodie) we went to Loie Fuller’s for lunch and was pleasantly surprised with our findings. Atmosphere was lovely as though you stepped into a true french eatery. Our server, Tess was very pleasant and accommodating. The quality of the food was spot on. I ordered the Cod Cakes and was delightfully pleased with the texture and taste. My lunch companion ordered the omelet and was equally pleased. The food was hot and the portion size was just right. For us its quality over quantity. Tess suggested the steel aged Chardonnay and we were very satisfied. I feel a good server adds a lot of value to an establishment and Tess surely fits the bill. We look forward to a return visit for dinner.
We went to Loie Fuller for brunch and it was tasty!! It was busy, so the wait for food was a little long, but well worth the wait! We can’t wait to go back for dinner.
Worth the trip. Lovely, romantic setting. Beautifully done. Loved our dinner. The staff is friendly, and the crowd diverse, from young, stylish families to an older crowd, to a 20-something group at the bar. What a French bistro should be.
Try the beets. We have enjoyed dinners at Loie Fuller on a hand full of occasions. We have found the food a little heavy, but quite delicious. The atmosphere is beautiful, achieving an intimate, romantic setting. We have been repeatedly surprised by the servce; one server is exceptional, while the others have been unaccessable/indifferent. We have enjoyed the roasted beet & celery root salad many times; it is fantastic. We have also enjoyed various daily specials. We have always enjoyed the food. Portions are reasonably sized (similar to what one would expect in Europe, but perhaps considered small by our overly large US standards). If the chef makes macaroons for dessert on the day you dine at Loie Fuller, you would be wise to enjoy one or two!
Food/Atmosphere=good.. waitstaff=ehhhh…. I really enjoy the food and atmosphere here. The beer list is a pleaser and there is plenty of duck to go around. I was however not pleased with the service. The waitress was very unprofessional both in her choice of outfit (a bit skanky) and her overall manner. It’s not so cool when you’re dropping a buck fifty or so to have to deal with such things as this.
