I get the college thing, but if you are not local, not with going out of your way for. But it is a good spot if you are on a budget.

Looks are Decieving. Don’t let the appearance stop you from trying Louis’ Restaurant just off Brown University! The outside looks dumpy, the inside is cramped and just looks like an old greasy spoon – but the food is Outstanding! Large portions and so much flavor! I got the Drunk Johnny, which is essentially Corned Beef Hash with Onions and Garlic rolled up in and Omlette, served with Home Fries and Toast. All the food was terrific – including the Pumpkin Pancakes, which tasted like Pumpkin Bread. A must stop when in Providence! diningoutdfw.com

Delicious and dirt cheap. Louis’ doesn’t purport to be anything other than what it is–a greasy-spoon diner. But oh what a diner it is…servings are hearty, pancakes are fluffy, the eggs are amazing in that way only a place like this can pull off. Service is quick and efficient. The walls are covered with fun memorabilia. They serve beer in the early morning. All in all, pretty darn close to perfect.

I stood outside for a few mins ,after my first visit today, completely perplexed! Why is this place popular? Why did guy come here? And how are they still in business?! Food is your average greasy spoon except bland. The cooks ( I can’t call them chefs) only wore gloves half the time. I saw two cooks eating on the line while preparing meals! And the place is just down right filthy! The staff was arguing with each other the whole time. If you do decide to venture out and form your own opinion I suggest you sit at the bar closest to the open kitchen and observe! Wil never return!

Don’t get the huevos ranchos !!!!. IT was disgusting!! it was a sloppy mess of beans and gray liquid over eggs sooooo nasty i couldn’t eat it… the pumpkin pancakes were good but this place is nothing special in my eyes because breakfast is the easiest meal to make so its medicore at best the pancakes are the only thing worth paying for OVs is a much better breakfast place and if you have the cash Nick’s on broadway is the best in all of providence

Blast from the past. I used to go here all the time back in college and loved it. Early morning huge breakfasts before class with homemade waffles, pancakes, breakfast sandwiches, and crispy bacon. Very inexpensive too. Had basically forgotten about it until the Food Network featured it on Triple-D last week. Now it is back in the rotation!
