Just had breakfast there on our way out of town. It’s a little hole-in-the-wall kinda place, where the food is better than you’d expect from the looks of the outside of the place. The owner was amusing – trying to train 2 new waitresses with not an ounce of patience. Anyway, our orders were exactly as ordered, food was great (and a LOT of it) and the unintended entertainment just added to the experience. Our waitress, bless her heart, looked to be in her 50s, obviously new to waitressing, but she was really trying, and she had a good sense of humor about it. I gave her a $10 tip on our $22 bill simply because of her attitude and effort. Best of luck to you, Elaine.
Best breakfast ever. We go there at least once a month for breakfast, and I’d go more often if I could afford the calories. Everything they make is well done, and the place is always buzzing. Good coffee too! A real favorite.
Rode Hard and Put Up Wet. This place has a good reputation among hipsters and probably also among truck drivers who frequent the nearby strip clubs so I thought I’d try it out. While they do have an extensive list of omelets and pancakes, the level of filth on every square inch of the place left me wishing I had ordered to go.Their plastic plates look like they have been worked over more times than a Jersey Shore call girl with a pierced nipple, and the decor was such that I couldn’t tell if I was in my grade school friend’s 1964 finished basement or a Salvation Army backroom. Don’t get me wrong, I like a place with character and the food was decent with generous portions, but they need to literally clean up their act.
