Terrible service. Visited Red Stripe for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. Very crowded, yet without apparent reason. Food was largely tasteless including the mussels. Service was horrible- waiter was gossiping with other staff, drinks ordered visibly sitting at bar ready to be served yet when waiter delivered them he apologized for the wait in preparing them. Noisy atmosphere, cramped tables.
Mixed. Nice place, good food, seems to be popular. The two times I went with family, then with friends, we had to forget conversation in the din. This will be fine for some people. We found it too noisy for our particular needs and tastes.
I ate here last night and it was a great experience. Some people complain about it being noisy, but I enjoyed the atmosphere it was fun. I enjoyed a perfectly dressed mixed green salad, decadent and flavorful french onion soup, and creme brulee. I will definitely be back!
Great Bistro!. We love this place for dinner. Mussels are wonderful and done many different ways, the Grilled cheese is lovely and the Martini’s are well made. Great staff, and good service, thought when full it can take a while for food to arrive. Love the busy fun atmosphere and open kitchen.
Liked the outdoor tables and airy feel. Went for brunch. Older crowd. Loved the red flannel hash (corned beef, beets, onions). The rest was good but not exceptional.
Always yummy, always too noisy, sometimes too salty, generally overpriced.
Great Food, Equally Good Service. A group of 6 of us went to Red Stripe on Saturday around 8:30 and the place was hoppin. A few minutes after being seated another friend decided to join us and the waitstaff was very accommodating. Our server was great when it came to making recommendations. I had the Red Stripe Paella which was loaded with littleneck clams, mussels, shrimp, and spicy chorizo. The portion was huuuge, I wasn’t able to finish it. My girlfriend and another friend had the grilled salmon which they loved. The potato latke that it was served on rocked. My only complaint about this place was that the mussels were very very gritty. Other than that everything was great. I highly recommend trying out the Red Stripe. Hooorrayyyy Beer. Also they serve Colt .45 and they serve it in a brown paper bag!!
