Nice restaurant on the first floor. Good ambience, nice lil sports bar. Food is good, do try the scallion pancake, spring Rolls in starters and vegetable fried rice and spicy noodles are must try.
The Mister & myself have been enjoying this place for the past several years & are rarely disappointed with our experiences. Love. Love. Love the changes being made and are anxious to see what is to come. Whether it’s a special, fun, datenight filled with amazing drinks & satisfying dishes or a nice, quick, bountiful, cheap, yummy Sunday lunch. We enjoy every visit.
Mediocre food, abysmal customer service. The food is not terrible, but the customer service is awful. The staff are rude, inconsiderate, and disrespectful, especially if you are a take-out customer.
The Best!!. I experience good and bad days with all restaurants but I have never had a bad day at Shanghai on Thayer Street. The atmospher, view, staff and food have always been great. My favorite is the Beef Teriyaki with an order of Chicken & Shrimp Pad Thai. They have even recently added a full sushi bar with some of the best prices and delicious sushi in RI. Don’t just take my word for it, go try it for yourself and if for some reason you do have an issue with something you order just ask to see the owner, he is always overseeing and ready to please you to insure you have a great dinning experience.
Shanghai has one good thing going for it: location. In my opinion, the food is overpriced and subpar, even compared to cheap Chinese food places. However, the space that it’s in (overlooking thayer street) is pretty sweet. For me, the negatives far outweigh the positives at shanghai
Convenient. Good atmosphere, good service, good food (garlic tofu w/ veg) and great scorpion bowls. yups. Also great that there’s the option to sit down at eat, make a quick meal at the service counter, or take out!negative on the nime chow. it comes with like peanut butter, last time I checked. no no.
Really chill atmosphere with good food and dim/exciting lighting.
