I visit the thai star at Elmhurst quite often for weekday lunches. This review is however to the newly opened branch in Cranston.The new place is as good as the original. Staff are friendly and the service is pretty quick.It is BYOB.Wish they had a better delivery option. The delivery through Dashed is very expensive

Woof. You know that horrible stereotype about Asian restaurants serving cat and dog? I wouldn’t say that Thai Star is actually doing this, but they aren’t doing much to dispel the myth with their gray and greasy low grade beef and pork. No thank you.
Never again!. Thai Star’s cuisine is above average, but its location leaves much to be desired. I will no longer eat here because my boyfriend and I were verbally assaulted (gay bashed, really) by a group of teenagers who barged into the restaurant and began hurling anti-gay slurs at us. The manager tried, weakly and unsuccessfully, to get the teenagers to leave but did not escalate the situation by contacting the police. Even though I loved their mango sticky rice, I simply refuse to dine in a restaurant in which I feel unsafe. Too bad.
