Never Again.. Sushi was ok but the service was awful. Not only is it dirty looking inside, all the waitstaff does is stare at you.Its like take a picture why don’t you? It was smelly in there also, smelled like old feet. The plates and silverware were all chipped. For some reason the waitstaff were laughing so loud just staring at us,made us feel so uncomfortable we had to get up an leave. Definitely found it a very rude awful atmosphere. Whether its BYOB or not it looks like a complete bomb went off in that place, cannot believe its actually still up and open to the public.
Was better last time. This time dos was below average. The surf clam was freezer burned and the presentation of the sushi was poor. Won’t be coming back.
Pretty awful. All their dishware is chipped, worn out, and just plain gross. My salad tasted a lot like lemon dishsoap. The tempura tastes like old oil. My sashimi was ok. But the whole place looks like it’s falling apart. The seats are worn out. It’s just not a good place.
Amazing
Loved the Italy roll with white tuna inside and out. Nice selection of fish — enjoyed having bonito, uni and ama ebi on my first visit. Since it’s in my ‘hood, I’m sure there will be more meals to come. Btw, no problem whatsoever with service.y water was refilled promptly, the dishes came quickly even though the restaurant was full of Valentine’s Day diners and the bill was presented only after someone ce to check to see if I’d had enough to eat or wanted dessert. On the atmosphere, all I can say is Tokoyo is very traditional. The sushi nigiri comes in boats, there are rice paper screens and red Japanese lateens that provide a nice subdued, but not dark, interior for the two dozen tables and six sushi bar seats. It’s lvely and none too quiet but you can easily hear your companions over the top 40 background music.
Like it. I’ve yet to find a sushi place with great service, but so far Tokyo has been the best and the food is delicious and very well priced.
Great japonase food. Fresh fish.
