I had dinner last night at Roma,we chose anti pasta and it was just like Mom made. We also ordered it at Venda on thursday and it was not anywhere near as tasty as Roma’s. The meals that we chose were all excellent, salmon, eggplant and chicken marsala we agreed all the food was beautifully presented, the portions were great. The waiter Zack was fantastic. Nick came over to say hello. This morning before my daughter left to fly home we went to Roma again and purchased all the ingredients for 5 grinders. Oliver could not have been more helpful. I am delighted we chose Roma and would recommend them to anyone that would like to enjoy italian food as wonderful and our Moms made for us all when we grew up on federal hill.
We went here with a party of 13 after a hockey game. There were 6 adults and 7 kids (11-12yr olds). Things started fine with bread and drink orders. After a few moments our appetizer and dinner orders were taken. Over an hour later is when things took a turn for the worse. No sign of food, no sign of wait staff and people in our party had to go the bar to get new drinks. Another 30 minutes later (when no other tables had food, and 2 tables left) we summoned the manager to register our complaints. Shortly after our dishes began to randomly appear, some mains, some appetizers, some hot, some cold, some complete and some incomplete. This was not satisfactory and after another less than apologetic discussion with the manager we demanded to speak to the owner, who took the view that we ate the food so the experience couldn’t be that bad. After some negotiations we settled on the appropriate compensation for the disaster of a meal. Which in the end was also not satisfactory. The real shame is that the food was actually good, but I would NEVER eat here again and neither should you.
Pick This One!. Atwells Ave obviously has no shortage of Italian restaurants. Roma is a newer, clean, comfortable playa on the block that REALLY knows it’s stuff. We had the veal saltimboca and the mac and cheese and both were freakin’ fanstastic! Good affordable price point and solid service only make this an even more perfect choice on a Friday night. Give these new kids a try. They cook like they have something to prove!
Amazing Italian food. We loved this place! Everything we ordered was delicious, and the prices were very reasonable. We are new to the area, and now we’ve found the place for great Italian food.
Absolutely loved this place!!. I visited some family that I have in Providence and they brought me to Trattoria Roma. This place has phenomenal food. Best Italian cuisine that I have had in a long time. 2 thumbs up!
Never Fails. I am a frequent visitor of the marketplace and decided it’s about time to share my experience here with everyone. Such delicious food, I usually stop in for lunch. I suggest the toscano chicken, a personal favorite. Though anything you choose here is bound to be great! Friendly and welcoming staff as well.
