My first time to a Fatz even though they’re everywhere around here. Nice restaurant, nice bar. Tony the bartender was awesome, and a shout out to brewmaster Tom Schulte…..whoever you are. The firecracker sticks were anything but sticks. They were a huge, fabulous, greasy mess but I did not realize how many there would be. Even though I got a salad as my meal, I coulda/shoulda stopped at the appetizer. The Caesar dressing was too watery and the salmon slightly, just slightly underdone, so I did not enjoy my salad that much. Great variety on the menu, so likely I’ll be back.
Our first trip to Fatz was great. My wife ordered the Asian Salad and I had a Fried Fish Sandwich w/Fries. The salad was huge, the sandwich was well worth $9.00. I will order the Fish Sandwich again. As someone else mentioned, when they found out it was our first visit they brought out several sample items for us to try. After the meal we were visited by the owner. Give Fatz a try, you will not be disappointed.
Absolutely disagree w pricey not worth it comment. Their food isn’t pricy to me and it’s worth every single penny. Ummm Yumm. I’m salivating just writing about it! I’d list it in my top 5 on my personal favorites list for Aiken. Bartender is really good too!05 Sep, 2012Man their food is tasty! Salmon, their rolls, n their famous Calabash Chicken. Tell me it’s ur first time and they will give you a free sample.
Friendly Service and Great Food. We are new to Aiken and tried FATZ recently. This was our first time eating at a FATZ restaurant, and our waitress found out through our ordering since we were unfamiliar with the menu/what is popular. After we ordered, a manager came to our table and welcomed us to the area and brought Calabash Chicken for us to sample for free, one strip for each of us since we were with our kids. It was great! Another manager came and greeted us as well. We were very appreciative for the free appetizer and the friendliness of the managers/waitress. My husband and I each ordered a salad, and the dressings for the salads were fabulous! I had a hot bacon vinaigrette, and his was an Asian dressing. We’ll be returning to FATZ soon! It was a hit for the whole family!
Pricey but not quite worth it. Earlier this week we went to this restaurant for lunch with other business people. We ordered the daily special, which was grilled pork. We asked that the pork would be cooked barely done and safe, not overcooked. The pork chop was a thicker cut which would make it easier not to overcook, however it was served to us charred. It was tough to cut, tougher to eat. The sweet potato was baked properly and butters they provided were fine. The service was good, though somewhat too bothersome. Each lunch was about $12 which is somewhat high for lunch in this area, and the food quality was not up to that price level.
