Best mexican in Aiken. Food is excellent. Service, yes it can be hit or miss.Side note. People who complain about a non-english speaking waiter at a Mexican Restaurant need to get a grip, especially when the wait staff and the food are both obviously Mexican. If you seriously can’t get around the language barrier (you know, because maybe you don’t know what the Mexican word for taco is…) you probably shouldn’t have left the house in the first place. Pro tip: try pointing at the picture or order by number.
Love the Food. I have been eating at Maria’s since they opened several years ago. I have enjoyed the food and the staff all these years. My favorite menu item is the Tortilla Soup. Perfecto! Our last trip to Maria’s, however, was very disappointing from the aspect of service. The new wait staff seems genuinely clueless. When mistakes were pointed out, they were like deer in the head lights. Blank stare, no apology, very little attempt to rectify the situation. When I confronted the manager who recognized us as long-time customers, he was very accommodating and got things rolling. I’m sure he and the owners will get the restaurant back on track. I sure hope so, because I don’t know where I’ll go for that delicioso Tortilla Soup.
Best Mexican in aiken. Gorditas are a must try. Service just depends on the waiter- they have some great ones and some surly, cranky ones but that’s anywhere.
Terrible experience. The food is nasty, service slow, our waiter doesn’t speak English, how can that happen here?
No service. I keep trying Maria’s out because they do have really good food. But I just can not get past the horrible service. Today the lady sat me at both and about a minute later sat 3 people at the both beside mine. How about the waiter goes right up to their table takes their drink orders and gets the drinks (they had bar drinks too not just tea or soda) made sure they had the chips, salsa, and cheese sauce then took their food order. All the while my server has not greated me nor said i’ll be right there nor has any of the wait staff looked at me. Finnally the lady who sat me comes over and gets my drink and food order all in because I had sat so long I had decided on my food. and then from around the cornor some sets my drink order on the table and is gone before I could even see who it was. Then my food finnally came out. Dropped off with out even asking if it was my food or not (lucky for me it was my food and was right). No one even came back to check on me until my plate was empty and tea glass was empty. I mean this place has really gone down hill if you ask me they used to have above excellent wait staff and food and now they have below substandard service and the food is good but not worth the service next time I will go down Whiskey Road instead of staying on Pine Log.
