Best Asian Cuisine in Aiken if You Like Authentic Chinese/Thai Seasoning. If you like authentic Chinese or Thai sauces and flavoring, then Red Bowl has the best Asian cuisine in Aiken. If you prefer Americanized versions of Asian dishes like those served in many of the smaller Chinese places in the area, then this is not for you. While the sauces and seasonings are not quite as authentic as those in the better Asian restaurants in large metropolitan areas, (for example, Sam Wu’s in Las Vegas and Los Angeles), they are very good. The Walnut Shrimp is good, as are all the Thai curry chicken entrees and the stir-fried beef and vegetables with spicy garlic sauce. The vegetables are crisp as they should be. Other reviews complaining about undercooked vegetables indicate a lack of knowledge about Asian cooking. This is not traditional Southern cooking where vegetables simmer in the pot for a long time. The hot and sour soup is as good any any I’ve had. Drinks, including hot tea, are overpriced. I generally just ask for water with lemon. The better Asian restaurants include hot tea and unlimited white rice at no extra charge. No comment on the Sushi since I never eat it. Service is often spotty. There are certain young inexperienced male servers who often would rather flirt with girls at some tables than attend to all their customers. Senior specials on Wednesday night (free soup and 20% discount on entrees) are a good deal, particularly as you can take home half the portion for the next night.
It’s the best and cheapest sushi in Aiken, especially at happy hour which is every day from 3-6:30! The seared Ahi tuna is pretty good as well. Atmosphere and service is great!
Best Sushi in Aiken. Haven’t had really good sushi in over 6 months. Saw the reviews for Red Bowl and desided to try for myself. Went for the first time about a week before Christmas. Sushi was excellent, very fresh and very well made. The prices were fair. I found out at that time that they have sushi happy hour daily and the sushi is half off. I went back during happy hour on 12/31 and the sushi was still excellent. The service was normal. The sushi chef is very friendly, and he takes his time to make sure the sushi is above par!
The sushi bar is Terrific! Great recipes, creative rolls, super ambiance. Ask for Udi to make your favorites. Tried the J&J roll. Awesome.
The sushi was fabulous. Nice place, friendly bartender, very quick service (granted I was there close to closing time, and it was a little obvious they didn’t want me lingering). Now, I did only order about 2/3 of my normal sushi order, and my bill was still $40, and I was still hungry. So even though it was really, really good, I get more for my many at my other ‘top’ places. But I would come back, for sure.
The food was awful. First it came out wrong. It was cold. The beef was soft like dig food. The vegitables wernt cooked. Recommend you do not go to this resturant
