For a Tuesday night it was oddly busy the night we visited. Part of the restaurant just felt and looked fancier than the other part. The bar area was nice and I guess I’m just not a fan of the the pleather booths. The food was pretty good overall. The presentation of the salad was kinda like let’s throw some lettuce on a plate and serve it with a side of dressing in a little plastic cup. My shrimp Alfredo was fabulous. I did not care for the tails being on my shrimp though-made it messier to try to eat. The portions were substantial though. I did not like the desserts and they were supposed to be the best ones and they were homemade. The cake had a cherry drizzle and the ice cream had a cherry in the center. I’m not a big cherry fan, so it ruined for me. It was excruciatingly hot in the restaurant that night, AC wasn’t working or something. The staff wasn’t overly friendly either, and it was hot in the restaurant but I kinda felt like we were more of a nuisance to our waitress and the hostess than paying customers.
My Pizza. Pizza is a very personal experience. I like thin crust, you like thick, I like pepperoni, you like anchovies. So a single numeric value for a review just doesn’t cut it. I will go into detail, thereforeI ordered a take pizza last night. The smallest pizza they have is 16 inch, which is more than I though I wanted. But maybe not, See below. The crust – medium thck, not crispy, rather soggy/soft in the middle. The pizza is cut in the traditional pie shaped wedges, which makes it difficult to handle, as the tip flops down and dispenses the cheese on the plate, or you. This part of the pizza I liked least.I lik a crust that is crisp to the center.Sauce – tasty – right amount – not sloppy, not too thincheese – tasty – plenty of it, no scrimping here.Toppings – I ordered pep/mush and they were very parsimonious in the distribution of the toppings. Some (large) pieces had only 2 pieces of pep and 2 of mush. The mushrooms were fresh, not canned. (+2 points)Since the crust and toppings were rather thin, the total food volume for their 16 inch is a little bit more than most place’s 14 inch.On the whole, I will not go there again, not to my taste. I will continue the quest for a better pizza in aiken
Best Pizza in Aiken. If you love hand tossed pizza–just go and try it. You will be happy you did so.Ask if they have their square pizza–it is a treat when available.
Always good. We have been coming to Roma’s for over a year now. We are picky about pizza and love the crust at Roma’s.I have not tried the sicilian pizza but have heard it is wonderful and light, not like you would expect from a sicilianpizza. It is a special item I think you have to order a few days in advance since it’s a special crust. We hadtomato basil risotto there as an appetizer last night and I have had risotto in other places, didn’t think I got whatall the hoopla was for this dish but this risotto was fantastic. I see now, if it is cooked right. This risotto was creamy and cooked perfectly. We order the small side salad, plenty of peppers, tomatoes and cukes and a good price $2.25. It’s a littlebigger than the dinner salad. Since we usually get a few slices of pizza, side salad is a good choice. I wouldupgrade from the dinner salad to the small side salad with a meal.29 Mar, 2014Once A Week. We like to get the small dinner salad. It is large consistently good. We always get a couple of slices instead of a whole pie. Always good and again consistent. Have tried the ziti and lasagna, also good but we are creatures of habit and always go back to the salad/slices. I think it’s some of the best pizza in Aiken. Have tried Zorba’s, The Pizza joint, all the chains – all bad, thick, limpjust bad. Service is always good here.
It was a huge disappointment. The food use to be amazing. Tonight it was about Pizza Hut quality. Not sure if they have a new cook but will not be back. The garlic nots were hard as rocks.
Good Meal. We go to Roma’s. 3-4 times a month. We always get a good meal. Everything from the sandwiches to the Eggplant parm. It’s real Itaiian food. I do wish they were open for lunch.
Food was ok, I had the eggplant parma with penne. The portion was huge, I will have lunch tomorrow! It was ok, nothing to write home about. The salad was sparse, one lonely cucumber slice and one grape tomato on iceberg lettuce with a couple of olives. My husbands Stromboli was good.
