Polite staff. The one dish I had the camarones loco was recommended by the staff. Very flavorful and lots of shrimp. Not as much vegetables as I imagined.The standard red salad was not very flavorful to me. Also get there quick, the flan is great but goes quickly.
OK Mexican Food. The food was acceptable and pretty standard for this type of Mexican restaurant. The service was less than stellar. Our server basically just put the plates on the table with a half-hearted attempt to determine who they belonged to even though they were very hot. And even though I asked for a tamale, it was never delivered and did not appear on the check. Judging by the conversations at the register, mistakes are a common occurrence.

Last Visit – 10/23/12. I would like to express my extreme displeasure with El Sureno. After purchasing a new vehicle, we wanted to catch dinner, specifically at El Sureno. Knowing it was late I called at 9:15 on Tuesday to find out what time they would be closing. i was assured 10:00. We bypass several other restaurants and arrived at 9:32 only to find the door locked and no one would acknowledge my presence at the door. Although we have frequented this restaurant before, rest assured that none of my friends or I will venture though their doors again. Extremely bad management to say the least.
It’s not a great restaurant, but it’s good. The service on a Sunday night was excellent, with no wait. The guacamole was good, and the chicken burrito was tasty. The chicken meat is boiled, and gives the dish a bit of a wet texture, and the taste is still good. All in all a nice restaurant for this area.
My family and I eat her at least twice a week and we love it! Best Mexican food around.
