A Gem in Plain Wrapper. Boondocks is not much to look at from the outside or the inside, but the food makes up for what is lacking in atmosphere. It is the typical old seafood restaurant at the beach! Bright lights, lenolium floor and bar upstairs, BUT OH MY WORD WHAT GOOD FOOD THEY HAVE!!!!!!! We go everytime we are at the beach and are never disappointed. Last night we both had blackened fresh grouper with cajun reumalaude sauce, a Fresh, not held over for hours baked potato, great hushpuppies and the most delicious seafood chowder that I have ever had. So thick you could eat it with a fork, but to get every morsel, keep the spoon. We like having our own wine, so we always take a bottle for a small corkage fee. We always share with Jesse, the owner, who is interested enough in wines to want to know about them. Finally, we took home our dessert to eat later. It was a delicious pumpkin pie with bourbon laced whipped cream. I don’t even care much for pumpkin pie, but this was delicious….

Very Disappointed. Visited on 7-6-13 – terrible service – we were seated at the bar and the waitress acted annoyed because she had to show us the menu (our first visit and last) – after ordering, it took over 30 minutes to get our food and the waitress only came once to the table after we flagged her down to refill our drinks. The only other time she came to the table was to give us our bill which I thought was pricey considering what we ordered. Will not visit again.

Fried flounder on children’s menu was wonderful, white and flaky. Grilled shrimp is great. Blackened grouper was just okay. If you get the ceasar salad, get the dressing on the side because it is too much otherwise. However, it is quite expensive.

Just ok…. This place always has cars in their lott so we went in for dinner last night (Sunday night around 7:00). No one in our party of 7 thought their food was great. The bathroom was not clean. The waitress just did the basics for us and was never overly friendly. Tonight after eating at the Dockside Restaurant we passed this place again and it looked busy which made me scratch my head in wonder. Maybe we missed something?

Great spot! Casual family atmosphere. Food is always good and on week nights really good specials! Also a bar upstairs with live music!

Great ribs special, friendly and relaxed. Prices very reasonable.

Come on the first Saturday during the winter months to eat the best pulled pork that I have ever had. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet with great greens and baked beans.
