NOT WORTH IT. You do NOT want to eat here. I have never experienced such horrible service. It took us forever to get drinks, and they were out of half of the food we wanted to order. Of my party of five, When we received our food, there was something wrong with every persons order. We brushed it off because we were so hungry at that point. To top it all off our bills were all wrong when we we finally got them. The service was completely ridiculous and we didn’t even get to have the items that received positive reviews because they were out of them. This place is NOT worth it!

My low country stew was first served partially cold, which was an immediate disappointment and turn-off. They heated it more thoroughly but the damage was already done. Our drinks were never refilled and prices seemed steep for what we got & the mediocre service we received. My husband’s shrimp and grits were really tasty and creamy, which was the only saving grace of the meal.

If you’re searching for an authentic Gullah/Geechee soul food experience, Gullah Grub fully delivers. The restaurant is run by a friendly Gullah family from the island, and the head chef, Mr. Greene, has been featured on cooking shows including Martha Stewart and Anthony Bourdain. Celeb credentials aside, Gullah Grub features the full package of excellent service, delicious food, and authentic surroundings. The collards were the best I ever had, and the red rice took me right back to my years in West Africa. The shrimp gumbo was a rich, spicy stew and the fried fish was fresh, crispy and transcendent. I will certainly be back!
