Ordered the Coq au Vin which was richly decadent. Also ordered the scallop pasta and mussels to start. Overall, food was great, and wine list was extensive. My complaints are with the service. We had a reservation a month in advance, and confirmed the night before. We showed up on time, gave the hostesses our name, and were told it’d be just a minute in an unprecedented condescending attitude. We proceeded to wait 25 minutes right in front of the hostess stand (in clear sight) while the hostesses sat three other couples (without reservations) ahead of us. It wasn’t until I said something to one of them (about how long we’ve been waiting, and the people seated ahead of us) that they seated us. What bothered me the most was that there were THREE hostesses and NONE of them took notice of the situation. They were all young college girls (I’m assuming) who seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than catering to the guests. In addition, the atmosphere was unbearably loud and the bar was very rowdy (given it was 9 pm on a Saturday).
I had the lamb. Amazing but honestly not enough food for the cost. I’d go back though for the taste. The service was okay. She could have done better.
Another pricey but average restaurant in the Charleston King St area.Items ordered:Charcuterie assortment – 3Onion soup – 2.5Jardin Dauphinoise – 3Bouillabaisse – 3.5
Great service, huge portions. Food was amazing.
The Chicken Francaise is to die for!!
Amazing. Fantastic food and environment.
Absolutely wonderful meal. Our waiter was incredibly helpful and pleasant. The garlic, basil mussels with fries was a great appetizer. The pan roasted Atlantic cod was very good as was the tile fish with crab succotash. The vacherin (vanilla ice cream, raspberry sorbet, meringue with whipped cream and toasted almonds) was a delicious way to compete the meal.
