This French restaurant has been a Charleston staple for as long as I can remember. Inside has classic brass and dark wood decor with an intimate setting. The outside porch is our favorite for people watching and enjoying great weather. Our server Chris was excellent, friendly and welcoming. Between lunch and dinner service they offer a small menu, so its a great place to have a meal off peak hours! Known for their mussels with various sauces to choose from, we had them with the parsley, garlic and wine sauce. Succulent, plump and fantastic! They give you all the bread you want to soak up the sauce, and trust me you will! We also had the beef tartare with a hint of mustard and pops of capers topped with the traditional quail egg. Zesty and flavorful! We visit often and if you like French onion soup, thats a must have here!!! charlestonchews.com
