Lovely spot with a great drink menu. Got the swordfish and was satisfied, but the etouffee was just alright. The crab cakes were great and so was the white chocolate banana bread pudding.

Coast was alright. Had the 3 for 30 deal! Got appetizer , meal and dessert. So great de, but the food was just alright for me. The white mousse dessert was like whipped cream and my steak was undercooked.

Good, but not as good as the reviews on here and the prices on the menu led me to believe it would be. Ceviche was just okay, seared tuna was not very flavorful and over-seared (partially cooked, really). The crab-encrusted tilapia didn’t disappoint – it had a tasty sauce and the fish was very light, almost as soft as butter. Overall there are too many great restaurants in Charleston to pay this much for ‘better than average’, in my opinion.

I was here in the spring of this year. This was a great restaurant. I will return when I’m in Charleston or Myrtle beach again. The crab dip and the creole fried oysters were a great way to start off eating! The food is so good here and recommended by any local who’s a foodie like me!

Solid seafood restaurant. Impressed with the food and the service. Nice decor, and the presentation and the food were excellent as were the drinks. Was with a fairly large group of people and everyone was happy. Portions were about the right size, where you finished everything, wished there was a tad more but realizing you are buying quality and not quantity, so you have a little room for the desert, which takes care of that desire for a touch more. All and all a great place

Mediocre food. Average quality food in an overrated restaurant. Tried paella and crab crusted tilapia. Neither was very tasty. Overpriced and overcrowded for what you get.

Excellent food. Based on the recommendation and help from our hotel concierge we were able to get in at Coast for an early seating. The seating was one of the few outdoor tables so we didnt see much of the beautiful high ceiling brick walled interior. Still, the outdoor seating was nice and we could watch the occasional tourist stroll by, we just missed a bit of air conditioning. We tried two dishes, I ordered the Lobster and Crab Gratin, my wife the Blackened Escolar. My wife does not like anything spicy, and it is far too common for her to order a spicy dish and try to get it not spicy. While an attempt was made it was not totally successful, so we swapped entrees. What that meant was I got to enjoy portions of both dishes and found both to be excellent as well as quite different from one another.I thought service could have been better, this is not an inexpensive restaurant so my expectations are pretty high. Certainly nothing serious, just a little too long to place our order once we were ready, a little too long for the food (about 20 mins), my soft drink was not refilled. Good food does take time, so providing the small amount of basic table bread seemed an area where the restaurant could improve.Once my wife and I sorted out who was going to eat what, we had an excellent visit and recommend Coast to others. We intend to let our concierge know we were very pleased with his suggestion.
