Lunch was terrific!. My spouse had the turkey, brie, apple chutney sandwich and the pea soup with bacon…both items were terrific.I had the Carrot, coconut, ginger soup which was outstanding, as were the white wine truffled mussels with the tomato concasse. We are local and we will definitely go back for dinners and lunches. Nice job folks!
Meh. I had the pork chop for dinner and it was only ok. Nothing special. The flourless chocolate torte was amazing though. I would go back for that. Ambience not great — it was loud in the dining room and too much air conditioning.
Go Here. I don’t think Cru Cafe gets its due from the critics. It is a very good restaurant. The pork shank is excellent, the fried green tomoatoes the best I have ever had.
On Friday 6/13/14 we met friends and had dinner on the outside porch. Food and service was top knotch. But the Mosquitos hung out under the table & feasted on our legs. Perhaps the manager could give it a good spray down under the tables a few hours before guest arrival. I bet it would make a big difference. I’m sorry I didn’t have my bug spray in my purse, but If I had, I’m not sure the guests around me have appreciating me spraying while they’re dinning.
Great romantic dinner spot. Found this restaurant by accident and very glad we did! Intimate dining experience in an older Charleston home in the downtown area with excellent food! For those who are wondering if they should spend the few extra $$’s on this restaurant…there is no question! I will go back to try more things on the menu 🙂
Fab food, great service, moderate prices. WE LOVED EVERYTHING ,and are experienced diners who have travelled heaps. Close to Central markets, easy to find.
