This is a must visit if you are in the Charleston area. Second time we have been here. Just incredible. The local meat and sausage is tops for brunch. The grits cant get any better. I had the local quail today over grits. Best quail I have ever had. Dont pass this place up. Five thumbs up.
This is an amazing, small authentic Southern restaurant with a nice gourmet twist. The service is unpretentious and the atmosphere is best described as comfy. Well worth your hard earned dollars.
Happy Birthday week to me! The girls took me to Fat Hen for brunch to round out my 40th birthday week! What a wonderful little place. Tucked off of Maybank is a quiet unexpected gem. We were seated and quickly ordered mimosas! As the drinks and laughs started flowing, the food started to arrive. Beet Salad, She Crab Soup, French Toast, and more began to to fill the table. We ate, we laughed we praised the brunch gods. This is a must do but arrive early, the fill up fast!
1st time eating here after 7 visits to Charleston-without a doubt the best food I’ve eaten in the low country.. We will definitely be back. The quaint atmosphere, the service, and let’s not forget the incredible food, made the drive from the Isle of Palms well worth it …
The real deal. Well presented, beautifully prepared fare. well worth the trip out to johns island. service was impeccable. our waitress was a lovely southern bell named nicky. we will return again and again when we are in Charleston and we will sit with nicky.
Very quaint and cozy atmosphere. The service was very good! The salmon was the best I’d ever had! Delicious!
Rich and hearty menu. I’ve had the Rib and a Mahi Mahi special that was out of this world. Our server was incredible and the wait staff went out of their way to describe dishes and made us feel like we were at their kitchen table. Fat Hen is a great experience.
