Very good food, Quick service and Cool decor. Quick comfortable nice atmosphere Field Greens Salad, Country Fried Steak Roasted Vegetables. Fresh Hot RollsThank you! Danny and Kathryn Glenn Fort Worth, TX
We had a fantastic dinner at Husk. We did not have reservations, so we put our name in & went to the Husk Bar. We enjoyed a few cocktails- through the Garden, aero Mexico, might-nigh run. Our table was outside on the 2nd floor porch, food was fast & service was great!
Well the food was filling my roast beef brunch meal was so so. The meal had to much mushroom for me.The bread was a little too crunchy and if you ate to much of the bread you had to eat little of your roast beef. That was my over all review of what I ate,
Get ready for a long line. Simple menu, but splendid southern charm. The restaurant must be 150+ years old. Located right down the road from King Street.Chef is a James Beard award winner. Beware on Sundays, you will wait 1+ hours for your food. Food is 4.0. Speed is not good, hence the 3.0 rating.
WOW! This is basically southern food. It was described as the food grandma made. I am guessing it is more like the kind of food grandma remembered from her childhood… if her mom was an awesome cook. Heirloom varieties that have more flavor than modern hybrid counterparts dream of… cooked to perfection!
From Cleveland and Husk was our first stop on a 4 day trip. No restaurant beat it. The rolls were absolutely perfect – would have been happy with them by themselves….
I really enjoyed my dinner at Husk although it took a long time to actually eat here. Since winning the Best New Restaurant in America (2011) title, reservations were hard to come by. The first time we tried to have dinner we went really early (now the restaurant had been open for some time) hoping to squeeze in and the only table available was outside on a porch in the winter (they did have a heater but still, no thanks). We went next door to their detached bar and had a drink and ordered off the bar menu (not the same as restaurant menu). The bar is nice and we enjoyed our evening. I was able to have lunch at the Nashville Husk before dinner in Charleston. That being said, I don’t currently live in Charleston and am closer to Nashville and only tried for reservations when I was in town.Dinner was great once I finally had time to get back to Charleston. We started with a rice middlins/kimchi/beef dish and we tried the butternut squash soup as well as cornbread. It was all great! My friend ordered the catfish entree and I ordered a chicken dish. She liked her catfish. I didn’t care for my chicken at all. The menu changes daily and that night, none of the entrees sounded great to me. I do not like any dish with bones and I should have clarified if it was a chicken breast or carcass. There was also a weird spice in the dish that haunted me. That’s my fault, not theirs. I made a poor choice. Drinks were good as was dessert. The restaurant was beautiful and I enjoyed the vibe of the place. The only bad thing was the stench near the door and kitchen area. My friend said it was a dishwasher smell. It was sour and you may not notice it unless you stop by the bathrooms. I am glad we had dinner here and I was able to check it off my list. I would certainly return and recommend it. If you are in Nashville, the Husk there is just as good.
