UPDATE: I was here last night. Not even close to what it was last time. Some of them even same dishes. I kinda wish I did not eat here again to remember it like my first experience. I rated 5 stars before but now it is 3.5 stars. Below is my first review. I probably had one of the best meals of my life. Fried Green Tomatoes, Pork Belly, Succotash, Fried Chicken, Shellfish and Grits and as a dessert Pecan Pie with Ice Cream on top. AMAZING! The prices are above average but for this good food, it is normal. Portions are big. I can’t wait to go back.

The food was decent and service was ok. Overall, not one of the finest but definitely not a standout. Would think about a second go around but I’m thinking there are other spots in Charleston to try.

The Magnolias is a classy dining experience. We started off with an appetizer of Fried Green Tomatoes prepared with white cheddar & caramelized onion grits, country ham, tomato chutney 10s . Then creamy Tomato Bisque followed by delicious house salads. For entrees we had Shellfish Over Grits made with sauted shrimp, sea scallops, creamy white grits, lobster butter sauce, fried spinach and Spicy Shrimp and Sausage tasso gravy, creamy white grits 16. All prepared excellently. Our waiter was excellent both friendly and professional. Highly recommend.

A Charleston institution. You should definitely check it this place out for lunch or dinner when in Charleston. The service is impeccable, and the food delicious.

I’m giving this a 5 because their fried green tomato appetizer is the stuff of Dreams. The last time we were there about six weeks ago, I actually ordered a double portion. My husband who considers himself an expert on shrimp and grits said theirs is right up there. I always get the same thing because it’s that good. However, everything I see go by me while we’re there and other folks meals we are with seem to be a real hit. We like sitting at the bar and chatting with the bartender. Service is always been very good.

One of my favorites in Charleston even though it’s been a while since I went. They have some of the best fried chicken you can get in the city and they are one of the best low country restaurants you can find. Their brunch menu is great and they have a nice elegant atmosphere inside. Definitely recommend trying it for a first time visit to Charleston.

Very nice! Elegant but comfortable southern charm atmosphere. Very friendly staff! We shared the house made pimiento spread and crisps. My daughter had the crab cake sandwich and sweet potato fries. I ordered the Caesar salad with shrimp. Everything was fresh perfectly prepared and delicious. Our server was attentive, refilling our water and tea! We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. We plan on going back for a nice dinner on my next trip.
