Open for appetizers and live music on Saturday only.Charleston, SC (August 2013) The Metropolitan Room at Hugers has evolved from a quiet Saturday Night spot where locals host birthdays and community celebrations into a full service upscale Tapas Restaurant. The transition was inspired by the new co-partner of the establishment. The Tapas Menu at the Metropolitan Room is designed to reinvent American classics, and introduce a new dinner venue to downtown Charleston, complete with low-key live jazz, urban DJs and a trained and diverse staff that represents the progressing city. The restaurants is designed in a five tier completion model that ends in fall of next year. The first model consists of being open on Saturdays from 4:30pm- 2:00am. The menu is created by Chef Frisco Thumbtzen of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Chef Frisco graduated from the Art Institute of Atlanta in 2005 as a certified culinarian. His culinary background spans more than 10 years including ownership of a gourmet catering business, former owner of the Cajun Cuisine in North Charleston, and working at noted restaurants and Resorts throughout the US.For the Metropolitan Room, Frisco created a selection of unique and creative-inspired recipes as well as his own variations of classic low country cuisines style garlic buttered shrimp, Hawaiian edamame, Wando Calamari and a number of other dishes are featured. If choosing just one tapas is difficult, many selections are available in layer portions, called small plates. For dessert, theres banana foster bites, and bourbon whiskey pecan pie.
