Both the food and service were stellar. I ordered buttermilk fried chicken po’ boy with a side of collard greens. Maybe its because I often dine at odd hours when most restaurants are empty, but my food came out only 5 minutes after I sat down. Because of the speed, I assumed that the food would be tepid; I was definitely wrong in thinking that. It was a challenge to keep from burning my mouth while eating the po’ boy. I knew I should have waited but I just couldn’t, it was just that good. I like that honey mustard was used on the po’ boy, odd sauces are the main thing that turn me off of a sandwich. The collard greens were a little too sweet for my taste, but that’s something a healthy dose of hot sauce could fix. On top of the, the front of house staff anticipated all of my needs. One of the servers brought me stack of napkins right as I bit into the po’ boy and realized that I was going to have juice dripping off of my chin when I pulled the sandwich away. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

So I read in the Charleston focused Local Palate that Sean Brock likes the shrimp and grits and the Glass Onion. Sold. I had been there before but went with one purpose on my mind this time. Began with a sweet potato salad that had bleu cheese on top (they were out of the normal feta). The pairing of the two just melted in my mouth! The shrimp and grits had creamed greens and bacon, as well as your normal ingredients. Very very well done. Grits were nice and creamy and weren’t overpowered by the other ingredients either. I was full. Then I was told there was only 1 piece of carrot cake left. I couldn’t resist. Definitely plan to return again soon! The service was outstanding and friendly as well! Great food without having to deal with peninsula parking and crowds!

Thoroughly pleased! I ordered the pimento cheese omelette with a side of sweet potato hash. It was really good and the rest of my family enjoyed theirs as well!

Just move my daughter and her husband here and after a morning of unpacking we wanted a simple healthy lunch. This place rocked it. French local ingredients and awesome food.

Top billing on the tour of Charleston’s must go-to places. Be warned, some of the dishes are so good they will ruin you and you won’t be able to eat them anywhere else. The staff knows all the off menu staples the locals order, ask them for suggestions they won’t steer you wrong. Five stars, we had a big group and pretty much ordered everything on the menu; everything was delicious. Will be back anytime I’m in town!

All Hype and no Bite. Went to the Glass Onion. My significant other had lipstick on her glass. Ordered the food, which was very mediocre. The food is either over flavored or not flavored at all. It is very much over priced.

Mouth watering!. I have been driving past the Glass Onion for over four years. After trying it last Saturday, my only regret is not trying it sooner. I cannot remember having a better meal since moving to Charleston. The only problem I had with Saturday Brunch was not being able to choose what to order. The menu is filled with a creative variety of eats. I went with the Cajun Boudin w/ Dirty Rice, Up Eggs and Thunder Sauce, which was delicious. My wife enjoyed the Fried Pork Chop w/ Sweet Potato Hash. I can’t remember tasting such a tender pork chop. Overall, the food and service was outstanding. I can’t wait to try something else!
